Good day,

Laughing gas is used to calm the anxious patient down. Nitrous oxide is added to the oxygen and combination of the two in different percentages will be breathed in through the nose by the patient to relax . It is a sedative.

It takes effect after few minutes. It can make you feel: Happy, relaxed, laughing and light-headed. Hence the name " Laughing Gas". You can feel tingling in your hands. Nitrous oxide is a depressant and it slows the body down.

I had a very anxious patient laughing out loud while I was fixing her tooth.

After the procedure is done. We give you 100% oxygen for few minutes and the effect of the laughing gas wears off in few minutes.

We are here to help. Give us a call.
